Herstory
I'm a teacher in the New York City public school system. I currently teach 4th grade, but I have taught students in grades ranging from Kindergarten to 5th grade.

I was born in Yonkers, N.Y. and I grew up in the Schlobohm Houses. As the daughter of two hardworking parents, I was taught good work ethic and dreamed of becoming a lawyer. With law at heart, I always excelled in school and headed straight to college after high school. In college, I fell in absolute love with African American History and decided to pursue scholarship instead law. The more I learned, the more I wanted to be someone who provided a vital service to the community. Knowing that one of the best ways to build a strong community is to build strong children led me to education. I received a second graduate degree in education and have been teaching in the community ever since.
